NEWARK, Del. - - The NCAA announced its first round of official regional rankings for the 2024-25 women's tennis season and the Wilmington University Wildcats are one of seven teams under consideration for the NCAA Tournament in May.
The NCAA DII Women's Tennis committee released its first set of regional rankings on Wednesday. Teams under consideration in each region were announced in alphabetical order. Seven teams were listed as under consideration in the East Region for the five available berths. The committee will release its rankings in seed order on April 23 and 30, with the NCAA Selection Show set for May 5.
The Wildcats won the CACC Tournament and will earn the CACC's automatic qualification into the NCAA DII East Region Tournament. The Wildcats are 14-4 this season, with a 14-3 record against NCAA DII in-region opponents.
The Wildcats have three matches left in the regular season, each against teams under consideration. They face Adelphi (Friday) and New Haven (Saturday) this weekend on the road.
