NEWARK, Del. - - The Wilmington University women's tennis team is gearing up for another postseason run as the NCAA Regional Advisory Committee released its first seeded rankings of the season and the Wildcats are slotted in at No. 3 this week.
The Wildcats have been to four straight regional tournaments winning their bracket in 2022 and 2023 to advance to the National Championships Round of 16. The Wildcats won the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Tournament to earn an automatic berth into this year's regional tournament.
The Wildcats ended the regular season with a 17-4 overall record, going 6-2 against teams listed in today's poll.
New Haven tops the list at 13-1 followed by Queens and Wilmington. St. Thomas Aquinas is in at No. 4 followed by Adelphi, Chestnut Hill, and the District of Columbia.
Five teams will advance to the Regional Tournament, split into two brackets. Each bracket winner will advance to the NCAA Division II National Championships in Florida.
The Division II Women's Tennis Selection Date is scheduled for May 5 with the first round of regionals scheduled for May 12.
