Women’s Tennis Remains No. 3 in Final NCAA East Region Rankings

NEWARK, Del. - - The second installment of the NCAA Division II Women's Tennis East Region rankings saw no movement from the seven teams. The Wilmington University women's tennis team remains at No. 3 with the selection show coming soon.

The Wildcats closed out the regular season with a 7-0 win over the District of Columbia last week, finishing the year 17-4 overall. They won the final three games of the regular season, all against teams ranked in this week's poll.

The Wildcats are 6-2 against teams named in this week's poll, defeating New Haven, Adelphi, Chestnut Hill (three times), and the District of Columbia. They fell, 4-3, to St. Thomas Aquinas, and 7-0 to Queens.

The Wildcats won the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Tournament to earn an automatic berth into this year's regional tournament.

Five teams will advance to the Regional Tournament, split into two brackets. Each bracket winner will advance to the NCAA Division II National Championships in Florida.

The Division II Women's Tennis Selection Date is scheduled for May 5 with the first round of regionals scheduled for May 12.
