NEWARK, Del. - - Following another successful campaign in 2024-25, the Wilmington University women's tennis team finishes the season ranked No. 27 in the final Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Division II National Poll.
The Wildcats were a point away from reaching the NCAA Tournament Sweet 16, falling to Queens, 4-3, in the East Region 2 Final.
They finished the season 17-5 overall, going undefeated in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference play, finishing the regular season 10-0 before capturing their fourth straight CACC Tournament Championship.
The Wildcats earned the No. 3 seed in the East Region Championship, hosting No. 2 Queens on May 13. They held a pair of match points on the final court, but the Knights fought back to win the court in a third-set tiebreaker, and the match, 4-3, to advance to Nationals.
The Wildcats are the second team from the East listed in the Final Poll, just behind Queens at No. 27. St. Thomas Aquinas, the other team to advance to Nationals from East Pod 1, finished No. 29 while New Haven rounded out the East teams at No. 32.
