Siana MacDonald Named CACC Co-Player of the Year; Leading Four On All-CACC Teams

NEW HAVEN, Conn. - - Wilmington University sophomore Siana MacDonald and Thomas Jefferson University sophomore Alycia Veroux have been selected as the 2025 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Women's Tennis Co-Players of the Year. MacDonald and Veroux, who were also voted onto the All-CACC First Team, headline the CACC all-conference teams and major award winners announced today by Commissioner Dan Mara. The voting was conducted by the league's six head coaches in the sport.

Joining Siana MacDonald on the 2025 CACC Women's Tennis First Team All-CACC are sophomores Molly Carlberg and Ming-Fu Chen. Freshman Elena Camacho earned a spot as an All-CACC Second Team performer in her first season.

Jefferson freshman Anouk Oderkerk was voted the CACC Rookie of the Year. Oderkerk also earned a spot on the All-CACC First Team. The Rams' Fred Perrin was selected as the CACC Coach of the Year and Goldey-Beacom College earned the CACC Team Sportsmanship award for demonstrating class and character throughout the regular season.

MacDonald owns personal won-lost records this season of 6-3 in singles and 9-1 in doubles in helping guide Wilmington to the No. 2 seed in this weekend's conference championship tournament. The Novina, Singapore, native became the first Wildcat to ever reach the finals of ITA East Region Championship. A two-time CACC Player of the Week, she is Wilmington's first women's tennis Player of the Year since 2021.

Veroux, of Ehlange-Sur-Mess, Luxembourg, was the 2024 CACC Rookie of the Year. This season, she is 8-1 in singles and has teamed with Oderkerk to post an 8-2 record at No. 1 doubles. She is Jefferson's first CACC Player of the Year since 2022.

Oderkerk was immediately slotted into the No. 1 spot for the Rams and has put up a 10-1 singles record, including 9-0 in conference play. A native of Stenungsund, Sweden, she was chosen the CACC Rookie of the Week on four occasions.

Molly Carlberg led the Wildcats this fall by going 14-3 overall, going 8-1 in singles matches and 6-2 in doubles. The sophomore won her lone singles match at No. 1 while also going 3-1 at No. 1, 3-0 at No. 3, and 1-0 at No. 4. She was also 5-2 at No. 1 doubles this fall.

Ming-Fun Chen went 11-3 combined this fall, going 6-1 in singles and 5-2 in doubles play. She finished 3-1 at No. 3 singles and 3-0 at No. 4 singles while also going 5-2 at No. 1 doubles this season.

Elena Camacho is the lone newcomer to the squad and went earned Second Team All-CACC. She went 13-5 overall this fall, going 6-3 in singles matches and 7-2 in doubles play. She's played at every position in singles, going 1-0 at No. 1, 1-1 at No. 2, 0-1 at No. 3, 3-0 at No. 4, 0-1 at No. 5, and 1-0 at No. 6. She's also played in all three doubles spots, going 1-0 at No. 1, 4-2 at No. 2, and 2-0 at No. 3.

Goldey-Beacom, led by head coach Eric Burns, wins the CACC Team Sportsmanship Award for the first time.

The Wildcats are vying for their fifth consecutive CACC Tournament Championship this weekend. They host the tournament at the Delcastle Tennis Center and will be the No. 2 seed this year, facing off against No. 3 Goldey-Beacom in the semifinal on Saturday afternoon.
