WILMINGTON, Del. - - Gloria Barcaro won a pair of matches on Senior Day, leading the Wilmington University women's tennis team to a 6-1 victory over Millersville on Thursday at the Delcastle Tennis Center.
The lone senior for the Wildcats helped the team get to 14-3 overall on the year with two matches left prior to the NCAA Tournament.
Gloria Barcaro and Liza Sylka gave the Wildcats their first win at doubles, winning 6-2 at No. 3 to tie the match at 1-1. Ming-Fun Chen and Siana MacDonald then finished off the Marauders with a 7-5 win at No. 2 doubles, giving the point to Wilmington.
Min-Fu Chen started the Wildcats off in singles with a 6-2 and 6-0 win at No. 4 and then Molly Carlberg put the Wildcats up, 3-0, with a 6-4 and 6-2 win at No. 3 singles.
Millersville got its lone point of the match at No. 1 singles, and then Gloria Barcaro clinched the match for the Wildcats at No. 6 singles, winning 6-2 and 7-6 (7-1).
Elena Camacho battled for a 7-6 (7-4) and 6-3 win at No. 2 singles and then Ines Oliveira finished off the Marauders with a three-set victory at No. 5 singles. She won, 6-1, 4-6, and 7-6 (7-5), to close out the 6-1 victory.
The Wildcats hit the road for the final time in the regular season with their next match, traveling to #32 Indiana (Pa) on Saturday.
