NEWARK, Del. - - The NCAA has released its initial Division II Women's Tennis Regional Rankings and the Wilmington University women's tennis team is under consideration to be a part of the postseason tournament.
The committee released its first set of regional rankings for all eight NCAA Division II regions on Wednesday. Teams under consideration in each region were announced in alphabetical order. Six teams were listed as under consideration in the East Region, including Jefferson and Wilmington, for the five available berths. The committee will release rankings in rank order on April 22 and 29.
The Wildcat wrapped up its regular season with a 15-4 overall record, winning its fourth CACC Tournament Championship in a row in the fall.
Wilmington (15-4, 8-2 CACC) won the 2025-26 CACC Championship tournament in October and has automatically qualified for the NCAA East Regional Championship. Jefferson (19-7, 10-0) reached the conference finals and is the No. 44-ranked Division II team in the country by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association.
The NCAA will announce the qualifiers for the 2025 Division II Women's Tennis Championship on Monday, May 4, at 8 p.m. on ncaa.com. The field will contain a maximum of 48 teams.
