NEWARK, Del. - - For the fourth year in a row, the Wilmington University volleyball team claimed the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Team Academic Award for the 2025-26 academic season.
The Wildcats are a part of 1,432 collegiate and high school volleyball teams which maintained a year-long grade-point average of at 3.3 or higher.
It is the seventh season in the last eight years that the Wildcats earned the award and 13th overall since the 2009-10 season.
"It comes as no surprise to see our sport have more than 1,400 teams earn the AVCA Team Academic Award again this season," said AVCA CEO Jaime Gordon. "We are grateful for the dedication of the coaches and players who make both classroom and on-court success the lifeblood of their programs."
Wilmington is one of 157 NCAA Division II programs named a 2026 AVCA Team Academic Award winner. The Wildcats join Bridgeport, Chestnut Hill, and Holy Family as the four Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference programs on the list as well.
