NEWARK, Del. - - A win at the Philadelphia Cross Classic has launched the Wilmington University men's cross country up to fifth in the latest United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association East Region Rankings, as announced by the organization on Tuesday.
The Wildcats started the season at No. 10 in the East Region, but propelled to No. 5 in the week one poll. They jumped Jefferson, Saint Michael's, Adelphi, Franklin Pierce, and Saint Anselm with their dominant win to start the season. They won the Philadelphia Cross Classic by 21 points over Jefferson.
After having last weekend off, the Wildcats return to the course with a Friday morning race this week. They will run at White Clay Creek State Park on Friday morning, competing in the University of Delaware Invitational.
