Wilmington Women’s Cross Country Enters USTFCCCA East Region Poll at No. 9

NEWARK, Del. - - Following a second place showing in its first race of the season, the Wilmington University women's cross country team has jumped into the United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association East Region Poll, as announced by the organization on Tuesday.

The Wildcats landed at No. 9 in the first regional poll of the season after finishing second overall at the Philadelphia Cross Classic on September 6. They are one of two teams from the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference in the regional poll, joining Jefferson who stayed at No. 3.

Roberts Wesleyan continues to lead the East Region followed by Southern Connecticut State and Jefferson. Bentley went from unranked in the preseason to No. 4 while D'Youville moved up five spots to No. 5 this week.

After having last weekend off, the Wildcats return to the course with a Friday morning race this week. They will run at White Clay Creek State Park on Friday morning, competing in the University of Delaware Invitational.
