Five Wildcats Dominate Sport; Named CACC Players of the Week

NEW HAVEN, Conn. - - Five different Wilmington University student-athletes representing four programs were named Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Players of the Week, as announced by the conference office on Monday.

The men's and women's cross country teams, women's tennis, and women's soccer team all landed a CACC Player of the Week while men's soccer and women's volleyball each added honorable mentions, making it six Wilmington programs honored on Monday.

The men's cross country team led the group with Julian Jones being named the Runner of the Week and Reggie Hernandez winning the Rookie of the Week award. Julian Jones set a program record on an 8K course, running in 24:46.80 to finish ninth overall at the Lock Haven Invitational. Reggie Hernandez also set a new personal record at Lock Haven, running to an 81st place finish with a time of 26:35.70 to be named the Rookie of the Week.

On the women's side, Tiffany Banning led the Wildcats for the first time, leading to her being named the CACC Runner of the Week. She placed 108th overall at Lock Haven in the 6K event, crossing the line in 24:24.40.

For the third time this season, Eboni Bradshaw has been named the CACC Women's Soccer Rookie of the Week, leading the Wildcats to a 1-1 week. She scored the game's first goal in a 2-0 win over Bridgeport on Saturday, adding an assist on the second goal as well.

Siana MacDonald was the top performer for the women's tennis team at the 2025 ITA East Regional Championships this past weekend, earning CACC Women's Tennis Player of the Week. She won five singles matches, advancing all the way to the ITA Regional Championship match, finishing second among 77 student-athletes in the individual tournament.

Five additional Wildcats made their way onto their sports' Weekly Honor Roll as well. Men's cross country's Carter Sparwasser was the team's second finisher at Lock Haven while Sammy Banning was the women's cross country second finisher in the 6K as well. Men's soccer's Theo Faillon scored a goal in each game for the Wildcats while Sierra Bartley also scored a goal in each of the women's soccer's games. Karla Nunez-Rivera led the volleyball team to a 2-0 week, earning a spot on the CACC Weekly Honor Roll as well.
