NEWARK, Del. - - The Wilmington University cross country teams ran their final races of the regular season last weekend and the men locked in at the Louisville Classic, moving up a spot to No. 4 in this week's United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association East Region Rankings.
The Wildcats are now preparing for the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Championship on October 26. The Wildcats are two-time defending CACC Champions on the men side.
In the latest USTFCCCA East Region Rankings, the Wildcats jumped CACC foe Jefferson and into their highest ranking of the year at No. 4. Southern Connecticut State and Roberts Wesleyan remain at No. 1 and No. 2, respectively, followed by Saint Michael's who jumped three spots to No. 3 this week.
After the Wildcats at No. 4, Jefferson fell a spot to No. 5 while Assumption dropped three to No. 6 this week. Adelphi remains at No. 7 while Franklin Pierce ran well to jump two spots to No. 8. Southern New Hampshire dropped a spot to No. 9 while Bentley rounds out this week's poll at No. 10, down one from a week ago.
The men will go off second at the CACC Championship on Sunday, October 26, with the gun set for 10:00 a.m. The CACC Championships will be run on Belmont Plateau in Fairmont Park in Philadelphia.
