NEWARK, Del. - - The Wilmington University men's cross country team enters the postseason ranked No. 6 in the East Region, as the United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) released its latest polls on October 14.
The next regional polls will come following the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Championship this weekend, Sunday, October 26, in Philadelphia. The two-time defending Wildcats will go for three in a row on Sunday on Belmont Plateau in Fairmount Park.
The Wildcats were idle last weekend, but saw movement in the Regional Polls. They dropped two spots to No. 6 due to Franklin Pierce performing well at the Hopkinton Cross Country Festival and Bentley performing well at the NEICAAA Cross Country Championships last weekend.
Southern Connecticut State and Roberts Wesleyan remain atop the East Regional Poll while Franklin Pierce moved up five spots to No. 3. Saint Michael's dropped a spot to No. 4 following by Bentley moving up five spots to No. 5. The Wildcats are at No. 6, still ahead of CACC rival Jefferson at No. 7 who also dropped two spots. Assumption dropped two spots to No. 8 while Daemen enters the poll at No. 9 heading into the postseason. Adelphi rounds out the Top 10, falling three spots to No. 10.
