La’Shawn J. Waters is a Licensed Mental Health Clinician and consultant with Wilmington University. A proud alumna, she earned her Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from WilmU after completing her undergraduate studies at the University of Delaware.
La’Shawn brings a wealth of clinical and teaching experience to the university. She is the CEO of Phoenix Healing Services, a mental health practice in New Castle dedicated to providing compassionate, culturally responsive care. In prior years, she has served as a Graduate Teaching Assistant in the Clinical Mental Health Counseling program and an adjunct instructor in the Psychology Department.
Her background as a student-athlete (basketball) and her commitment to mental wellness across diverse communities allow her to connect with students in meaningful ways, offering both professional expertise and personal insight.
