Randy Rickards Named CACC Player of the Week

NEW HAVEN, Conn. - - Randy Rickards earned the Wildcats' first Central Athletic Collegiate Conference Player of the Week Honor for the week of November 28th for his performance against previously undefeated West Chester University.

Randy Rickards (Milton, Del./Cape Henlopen) led the way for the Wildcats who as a team enjoyed a night of 57.6 shooting percentage on 34-of-59 shooting. In large part thanks to Rickards' season high 23 points on 9-of-15 from the floor. Rickards also added 10 rebounds and 4 assists. Rickards made his presence known on the defensive end as well, as Rickards added four blocks.

Rickards currently ranks fifth in the CACC with an average of 8.2 rebounds per game, which leads the Wildcats. Rickards also leads the Wildcats in scoring at 16.5 points per game, which ranks 11th in the CACC.

Randy Rickards and the Wildcats' 57.6 field goal percentage ranks as the fourth-highest field goal percentage since the Wildcats joined the NCAA ranks in 2004. The Wilmington University Men's Basketball record for the highest field goal percentage still stands at .636 percent by the 2009-10 team against Washington Adventist College on January 21, 2010.

The Wildcats will start conference play on Saturday, December 3rd as they will face off at Chestnut Hill at 3:00 PM.
