Randy Rickards Named Second Team All-CACC

NEW HAVEN, Conn. - - Senior forward Randy Rickards has been named Second Team All-Conference by the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference men's basketball head coaches, as announced by the conference office on Tuesday.

He becomes the 19th Wildcat to earn All-CACC honors in the program's NCAA era, but just the fourth Second Team honoree. The program has now seen six First Team All-CACC honors, four Second Team honors, five Third Team honors, and four Honorable Mentions. Danny Walsh was a Third Team member last year and Jermaine Head was the last Second Team honoree prior to this year for his work in the 2017-18 season.

Randy Rickards leads the Wildcats with 14.9 points per game, rebounds with 8.3 rebounds per game, steals with 1.7 per game, and blocks with 1.4 per game. He has accrued eight double-doubles on the season with a season high 23 points coming at West Chester and a season high 16 rebounds at Alliance.

In the CACC, he ranks 12th overall with his 14.9 points per game and sixth in the league in rebounding. He is also seventh in the league in shooting at a 54.4 percent clip from the field, going 162-for-298 on the season. He has the fifth most made free throws in the league with 88, shooting at a 71.5 percent clip from the line. Rickards is also sixth in the league in averaging 33.7 minutes per game, third in blocks (38), and fourth in steals (47).

Jefferson's Erik Timko was voted as the CACC Player of the Year while Caldwell led with three Major Awards. Darnell Evans was named the Rookie of the Year while his teammate Jarnel Rancy was voted as the CACC Defensive Player of the Year. The Cougars' coach, Dean Johnson, was named the CACC Coach of the Year in his first year at the helm. Felician earned the CACC Team Sportsmanship Award.
