Nicole Council joins the Wilmington University women’s basketball coaching staff for her first season in 2015-16. Council joins the Wildcats after a successful playing career at University of Maryland Eastern Shore, professional playing career, and high school coaching career.

Council joins the Wildcats after successfully establishing and running Hoopz & Dreamz, Inc., a weekly basketball camp, since 2010. She also coached at her high school alma mater Churchland High School in Portsmouth, Va. (2006-08), after a very successful playing career.

Council was a four-year starter and team captain at the University of Maryland Eastern Shore (UMES) from 1996-2000. She was named All-MEAC in all four years while leading her team in scoring in her junior and senior seasons. Council is still the Hawks all-time leader in assists (368) and steals (295), and is third in career points (1,520). Her 538 points in the 1999-2000 season as a senior ranks second all-time in UMES program history.

Following UMES, Council went on to play professionally in Athens, Greece before returning home to coach at her high school alma mater.
