Women’s Lacrosse Wins Fourth Straight CACC Game, Defeating Felician 19-1

RUTHERFORD, N.J. - - The Wilmington University women's lacrosse team didn't allow a goal until the fourth quarter, racing to a 19-1 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference victory over Felician on Saturday at Tryon Field.

The Wildcats used 11 different point getters in the win, using nine different goal scorers. The Wildcats are now 13-2 overall and 5-2 in CACC play, staying in fourth place with two games remaining in the regular season.

Wilmington scored seven goals in the first quarter, getting three from Ella Rouer and two from Anastasia Giannoulis. Alea Javorowsky had the game's first goal and assisted on four others.

Seven different goal scorers accounted for all seven goals in the second quarter for the Wildcats, taking a 14-0 lead into the halftime break. Kirra Crowley and Javorowsky scored their second goals of the game while Michaella Cook, Royer, Eden Ward, Megan Molinelli, and Poppy Fornoff all scored in the second quarter as well.

Anastasia Giannoulis scored on the woman-disadvantage in the third quarter, as the Wildcats won the frame, 3-0, and extended the lead out to 17-0.

Felician got on the board in the early parts of the fourth quarter, scoring on the advantage. Madi Todd then got in on the scoring action with a goal to make it 18-1 before Giannoulis rounded out the scoring late in the quarter to settle the score, 19-1.

Alea Javorowsky led the Wildcats with eight points, scoring three goals to go with five assists. Ella Royer scored a team high five goals while adding two assists for seven points. Anastasia Giannoulis scored four goals while Kirra Crowley was the final Wildcat with multiple goals with two. Madi Todd scored a goal and added two assists as well. Royer led the pack with four draws while Leah Rycroft led the defense with two caused turnovers.

Ashleigh Lawry made three first half saves while Allison Schiavone made seven saves in the second half.

The Wildcats have two games remaining in the regular season, starting with a game under the lights in Philadelphia on Tuesday. The game at Holy Family is set for 6:00 p.m.
