Ella Royer Named Third Team All-American by IWLCA and USA Lacrosse Magazine

NEWARK, Del. - - For the second year in a row, Wilmington University women's lacrosse standout Ella Royer has been named an All-American, earning a spot on the Third Team by the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) and by USA Lacrosse Magazine.

The NCAA Division II's all-time leading scorer, Ella Royer, becomes the first Wildcat to earn a spot on one of the three All-American Teams since 2011 when Danielle Niccoli and Jess Graybeal were Third Team honorees by USA Lacrosse Magazine. Royer was an Honorable Mention All-American by USA Lacrosse Magazine last season as well.

The midfielder finished third in the NCAA and led the Wildcats and the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference with 101 goals and 129 points this season. It is the second year in a row she has eclipsed the 100-goal milestone and third straight season with more than 100 points. She also led the team and the CACC with 91 draw controls this year and was tied for third on the team with 23 caused turnovers.

In six postseason games this season, the three-time CACC Player of the Year Royer led the Wildcats with 28 goals, 38 points, and 26 draw controls, averaging 6.33 points per game. She had a season high 10 points with seven goals and three assists against D'Youville, adding nine points twice this year as well. She had a season high of eight goals in three different games.

Ella Royer is the only student-athlete from the CACC who was named All-American by the IWLCA, while Dominican's Jenna Rigo and Madelyn Grella were Honorable Mention All-Americans by USA Lacrosse Magazine.
