  • Entire Women’s Bowling Program Named to 2019-20 ECC Commissioner’s Honor Roll

    The entire Wilmington University women’s bowling team was named on the East Coast Conference (ECC) Commissioner’s Honor Roll for the 2019-20 academic year, as announced by ECC Commissioner Dr. Robert Dranoff. Over 1,300 student-athletes from the conference nine member school and 17 associate member schools were honored.

    The Division 2 Athletics Directors Association (D2 ADA) announced the 2019-20 recipients of the D2 ADA Academic Achievement Awards. The Academic Achievement Awards, in its 13th year, is a program that recognizes the academic accomplishments of student-athletes at the Division II level.
  • Four WilmU Teams Earn Top BIlling as 2019-20 CACC Team Academic Awards are Announced

    The Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) unveiled its 2019-20 CACC Team Academic Award winners on Wednesday, as six schools combined to take home the 17 honors for the 2019-20 academic year. The announcement was made by CACC Commissioner Dan Mara, as the school with the highest team grade point average in each of the league's 16 championship sports, was crowned the Team Academic Award winner for that specific sport.

  • CACC Announces New Team Activities and Competition Plan for 2020-21 Season

    The Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Presidents Council announced on Monday its plans for team activities and intercollegiate competition during the fall and spring semesters for the 2020-21 season. Teams will be allowed to take part in team activities on their respective campuses during the fall semester, while fall championship sports will be moved to the winter and spring seasons, with intercollegiate competition slated to begin in January.
  • Wilmington Bowling Team Excels Academically During 2019-20 Season

    For the fourth year in a row, the Wilmington University bowling team was awarded the National Tenpin Coaches Association All-Academic Team Award, ranking 19th in the country with a 3.554 team grade point average for the 2019-20 academic year.

    The Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Presidents Council on Monday announced that intercollegiate competition will not occur during the Fall 2020 season due to safety concerns stemming from the COVID-19 pandemic. The decision was made following a unanimous vote of the 14 CACC institutions. The vote followed lengthy conversations with key stakeholders throughout the conference.
  • Lorne Bickley Named 2019-20 CACC/CCA Male Scholar-Athlete of the Year

    Wilmington University men's soccer star Lorne Bickley on Thursday was named the 2019-20 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Male Scholar-Athlete of the Year, as announced by Commissioner Dan Mara. Bickley will now move on for regional and national consideration for the Male Scholar-Athlete of the Year Award presented by the Division 2 Conference Commissioners Association (D2CCA). Nominating and voting for the conference award was conducted by the league's 14 sports information directors.
